Courses

We offer 4 stages as follows:

Stage 1

Diploma of Early Childhood Education & Care (Visa 572)

1 Entry Requirement:

Academic – Completion of Secondary 6/ HKDSE is the required entry level. However, students who completed Secondary 6 without taking DSE examination can be admitted if English results are acceptable.

English – Students are required to have an English proficiency level II of HKDSE examination or at least 5.5 ILETS score to enter the program.

2 Course Details:

The 2-year Diploma program includes 1,440 hours of face-to-face study of which 444 hours are practical, management, staff support, working with parents and the community, centre management, leadership, etc.

When your ECEC Diploma course has commenced (not for international students on student visa!), you can work a maximum of 40 hours per fortnight during the term and unlimited hours when your course is not in session.

3 Course Duration: 2 years

Terms and intake dates: There are four 9-week terms per year and intake dates are in February, April, July and October

4 Course Fees: ($AU 18,200)

Fee payments dates: Diploma of ECEC and Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management – Tuition fees are paid upfront for the first two terms (6 months) and then every term (3 months)

Other costs:

Learning and assessment materials – Diploma of ECEC ($200)

Health insurance – You should have health insurance cover for the whole period you are in Australia

5 Finding a job offer for work experience

Work placement (Diploma of ECEC) – Non-paid work placement will be arranged by the College.


Stage 2

Occupational Training Program (Visa 402)
**During the Occupational Training Program (Stage 2), you are allowed to work full-time.

1 Entry Requirement:

Academic – Completion of Secondary 6/ HKDSE is the required entry level. However, students who completed Secondary 6 without taking DSE examination can be admitted if English results are acceptable.

English – Students are required to have an English proficiency level II of HKDSE examination or at least 5.5 ILETS score to enter the program.

2 Course Details:

This special 1-year pogram trains you to gain practical managerial skills in areas such as management, business, human resources, finance, marketing, etc. through full-time work at childcare centres. You will be awarded a full salary. The OTP was approved by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection.

3 Course Duration: 1 year

Terms and intake dates: There are four 9-week terms per year and intake dates are in February, April, July and October

4 Course Fees: ($AU 6,000)

Fee payments dates: Occupational Training Program – instalments are paid over the training period.

Other costs:

Learning and assessment materials – Diploma of ECEC ($200)

Health insurance – You should have health insurance cover for the whole period you are in Australia

5 Finding a job offer for work experience

Paid work (Stages 2 and 4) – The College will support you to seek employment – your success is dependent on your study results and work dedication.


Stage 3

Advanced Diploma of Leadership & Management (Visa 572)

1 Entry Requirement:

Academic – Completion of Secondary 6/ HKDSE is the required entry level. However, students who completed Secondary 6 without taking DSE examination can be admitted if English results are acceptable.

English – Students are required to have an English proficiency level II of HKDSE examination or at least 5.5 ILETS score to enter the program.

2 Course Details:

This 9-month course is the latest management course available in Australia from March 2015, which reflects the role of individuals who have leadership and managerial responsibilities. The course is particularly designed for senior managers in the childcare profession such as childcare centre managers where you can oversee and provide strategic leadership.

3 Course Duration: 9 months

Terms and intake dates: There are four 9-week terms per year and intake dates are in February, April, July and October

4 Course Fees: ($AU 6,000)

Fee payments dates: Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management –Tuition fees are paid upfront for the first two terms (6 months) and then every term (3 months)

Other costs:

Learning materials – Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management ($150)

Health insurance – You should have health insurance cover for the whole period you are in Australia


Stage 4

Childcare Centre Manager Program - Graduate Work (18 months full time work)

UPC College of Sydney, Australia has established a special package to train students to be qualified as Childcare Centre Managers. No formal study and training and no tuition fee.
The College will support you to seek employment – your success is dependent on your study results and work dedication.  You will work full-time for 18-months and be paid the same full salary as Australian childcare workers.

English – Students are required to have an English proficiency level II of at least 5.5 ILETS score to enter the program.

2 Course Details:

The Graduate Work Stream of the visa sub-class 485 is for eligible international studetns who graduated with skills and qualifications that relate to an occupation on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL). You will work full-time for 18-months and be paid the same full salary as Australian childcare workers. No formal study and training and no tuition fee.

3 Course Fees: Graduate Work – No fee

Health insurance – You should have health insurance cover for the whole period you are in Australia

4 Paid work:

The College will support you to seek employment – your success is dependent on your study results and work dedication.
